Wow, the HIN NOPI site was updated! For some odd reason, I decided to check out the HIN site and see if there was any new updates about the Los Angeles and Chicago car shows that was promised to be held later this year.

Looks like there won’t be any new HIN NOPI car shows this late in the year and it looks like there will be a new schedule for 2011. The site says that they will be honoring any one who had bought tickets for the Los Angeles or Chicago car shows. That’s cool and all, and it’s always good to know that there will be more upcoming car shows to feed the import tuner scene.

Thing is, how many car clubs will attend Hot Import Nights? How much of a carrot will HIN have to give before car clubs who might be uneasy about the stories we’ve been hearing the past few months about not getting trophies and prizes from the organizers. Yea, I saw the YouTube videos of everyone not getting their trophies. Add then the sudden cancellations that happen a few days before the event in Anaheim and then Los Angeles and then Chicago makes people become less trusting of your events.

I don’t think anyone in the general scene knows what is going on with HIN NOPI. It’s so secretive. Was the brand sold again? Was the staff fired? I’d be interested to know what’s going on and be assured that it’s a viable organization that I can support.

I’d still like to go to a Hot Import Nights car show event. Hell man, I’ve been going to them for a few years now. They’ve been great. I’d like to see them continue and bring back that awesomeness that I experienced when I first attended the Los Angeles HIN a few years back!
