I’m glad a buddy posted this car show on facebook the day before to remind everyone, because I totally forgot about it! Once I saw the post, I immediately recharged my batteries. Next day, woke up…. went back to sleep.
Another hour later, woke up and cleaned and then drove down to Torrance. Got there around 10 and found street parking on Van Ness. A nice little walk to the car show.

It was the day of the Manila International Auto Show and there I was back at the World Trade Center, heading towards the fourth hall that showed the sweets – classics and modified cars. The first 3 halls contained the new cars from the major manufacturers which was in hall 1. Halls 2 and 3 were vendors – a lot of vendors! So yea, I ignored those first 3 halls and started with the cool cars that were all placed at the last hall, next to the cafeteria.

I slept great in my hotel overnight. I even woke up early to get the buffet breakfast included with my room. I even arrived more than an hour early to sit in front of the doors and just hangout at the front of the World Trade Center. The weather was fairly nice and I didn’t have anything else to do until HIN Manila, and I didn’t want to stay in my hotel room.
I thought of a majestic plan. I was going to focus on taking pictures of the cars before targeting the import models. To do that, I had to get there before the crowds inundated the car show floor. To do that, I had to be one of the very first people in the line. Ingenious. Damn I’m smart!
That early morning exuberance on my part was to be my undoing for the rest of the day at the car show.
As the doors opened and I was able to get into the hall and immediately taking car pictures at the right side of the hall, things were going as planned. There wasn’t a lot of people and taking pictures was going smoothly. I found out on the first day that because the crowd was packed, no one moved around photographers as we were taking pictures and unlike the import tuner car shows Stateside with their wide aisles. These aisles were very narrow. Something to improve upon for next year!

Hey, hey, hey! The latest Subic Bay Auto Show will be opening its doors on April 28! Only a few more days, so get ready to drive to Subic! Take a look at the pictures I took last year when I was lucky enough to be in the Philippines to cover the Subic Bay Auto Show!
Entrance fee is P50 and the car show starts at 4pm, and is across the Subic Bay Yacht Club. If you’ve ever been at SBMA, it’s at the Kart area so there should be a lot of space for show cars.
Last year the car show continued until the late hours so get some sleep before going! I’m just hoping the fashion show – bikini contest is better than last year. I think this part of the program was the weakest due to not having a lot of contestants and they were a bit shy. The car show was good, especially when it got dark because the lights created some good mood pictures.

Been noticing more than a few visits from Malaysia. Welcome my Asian brothers! 
Mean Machines Malacca 2012 will be at the Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall from April 21-22. This car show will be from 11am to 11pm.
I hear there will be some hot models like Leng Yein who is at Hot Import Nights Los Angeles will be there!
