2012 Bangkok Motor Show Part 2

February 6th, 2013

Bangkok car show

Haven’t been posting much for the last 2 months. Yea, it’s been really depressing looking for a new job. You see job descriptions that look like a great fit but after applying, you don’t get one reply. Or those times you see a job description from a company you’ve already applied to and you know for some reason or another they will never consider you. Then there are those times when you get multiple interviews in a week and all of a sudden you get re-energized and shazam, you start seeing a way out of this purgatory. That’s where I’m at this week, I had a great interview earlier and a few more the end of this week, and so here’s the second part of my 2012 Bangkok Motor Show coverage! Enjoy!

So there I was in front of the grand doors taking pictures of the first car models I saw. Man this started off fast. After I was done, I just looked around and really didn’t know where to walk. The entire floor was full of people and so I went towards the direction where there was less people. I turned left and walked towards what seemed liked rows upon rows of accessories and parts. The booths were definetely smaller when compared to the car manufacturers. However, this was where you would find everything from rims, audio gear to car wax. Since I was walking towards the left side of the hall, and after I passed the accessories and parts, I finally found myself at the motorcycle area, and it was a really big area full of domestic and foreign brands. I remember mainly the bring brands from Harley-Davidson, Suzuki and Kawasaki. There were a few domestic brands like Stallions and others that occupied really big areas of the show floor.

2012 Bangkok Motor Show Coverage Part 1. Finally!

exotic car sold

It has been almost a year since I went to the 2012 Bangkok Motor Show, and I am finally writing down what I saw. I am so glad I took notes.

Took Cebu Pacific Airline from the airport in Manila to Bangkok. Cebu Pacific has the cheapest airfares I know to Thailand from the Philippines. The hitch is that you have to leave around midnight. On this trip, I arrived at my hotel at around 3am. That’s about a 3 hour trip, including the taxi from the airport. By taking Cebu Pacific, I think I saved at least a hundred dollars compared to other airlines.

Had a short nap, as I woke up and left the hotel at 11am – it was raining. Looking out of my taxi, I saw Bangkok, it almost felt like Manila but cleaner. Paid a fixed price of 400 Baht to the taxi driver. Traffic was so heavy I thought it was a decent deal after no other taxi I stopped would take me to the car show.
