Hot Import Nights will be bringing back from the grave… Nightshift! For all the guys who have never been to Nightshift a few years ago, it’s an out door car show. Think of Hot Import Nights, but outside! Yea, but the atmosphere feels distinct as the freedom of outdoors takes over and everyone just relaxes and just hangs around.
HIN gave us all a discount code to input when you buy a ticket to Nightshift. Just add AUTOSHOWEVENTS when you buy those tickets to receive $5 off the ticket price.
Nightshift will be from 3 to 10pm on March 3 at Toyota Speedway. In addition to the car show, XDC will be drifting on the track most of the day. Models, GoGo competition, DJs and free shit! It’s going to be an after market circus with no F~N clown! That’s a good thing!
Dubfest is back and it’s going to be back at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale on September 11, this Sunday! It’s not JDM, it’s a European car show! I’ll probably check it out. It’s been sometime since I’ve been to Dubfest.
Arrived at Toyota Speedway and parked. Parking was free so the day started out pretty good. I think it was about 1:30 when I opened the car door and BAM! What the hell dude. It’s freaking hot over here in Irwindale. Checked the thermometer and it was over 95 degree! I thought I could handle this.
So I got out of the car, and brought my equipment. My telephoto and regular lens and man it was heavy stuff. I’m never going to do that again. It’s going to be either one or the other. I hate carrying a camera bag and a fat bag for the telephoto lens.
Paid my $10 bucks for the car show and tried to take some pictures. The sun was really bearing down on me. I think there was some humidity that made it even worse. I didn’t take much pictures and after a while, I got hungry and bought some water and nachos at the food vendor by the entrance. Expensive stuff. The burger was just out of my price range.
After sitting down for a long time under the umbrella, went back to the car show and walked around. Talked to some guys. Thought I was going to have a heat stroke or something, and then I just walked.
Total time at Sideway Sundays was 2 hours. That’s the shortest time I’ve been to an event this year.
I have to give credit to the guys who stayed their the entire day. That’s dedication.
Sideway Sundays will be back at Toyota Irwindale Speedway on July 31 from 10 to 5pm. This is an all day drifting event and a car show on the side. Check it out. Going to be a nice day.
If you want to drift. I think there’s some rules and stuff but if you pass the rules, just pay $80 bucks for the entire day.
By the way, when you look over the fence, you’ll probably see nothing. That’s because everything is on the track. The cars and the vendors.
Uploaded the pictures I took at the Sideway Sundays car show portion on May 1! Arrived around 12 and when I saw the parking lot was mostly empty I thought I had the wrong day. I even had to look it up on the web just to double check I wasn’t going crazy. Yup, everything was alright. So I walked up to the gate and paid my $10 and looked around… weird, where the cars at…
I walked up the stands and… there it was. The car show was inside the track! Guys were also drifting and I saw the cars lined up. Sweet. The rest is history. Stayed a few hours and took some pictures. Damn, Stacey Dee was a hot NOS model! If you are also interested in drifting on the track at Toyota Speedway, I’d say do it! Pay the money and do it at Sideway Sundays!
Sideway Sundays was a small car show, but it was chill. Can’t beat $10 bucks admission ticket and free parking. Some nice hot import models, free NOS drinks, drifting, hot girls dancing on stage and a car show… until 5PM! I think this was the second Sideway Sundays event, so its new. Not a lot of people have heard of it. The next one I think is later this month… I think. I thought I saw a TBD or something on their facebook page.
Well, whenever the next event is held, I’ll be checking it out!
