import tuner car show june

Autocon. Was it only a short few years ago when Autocon had its first car show in an underground parking lot in an Asian strip mall, somewhere in the San Gabriel Valley? Yea, time sure does fly. That was when Hot Import Nights could not do anything right, when the the event organizers wanted to change it to reach the football crowd. I think there was even planned car shows on Friday when most of the guys with show cars… well, had to work. This was when HIN disapeared from the west coast and primarily targeted the midwest and southern states. A geographic area where Import Face-Off had its car show circuit. We all have to be thankful that the current Hot Import Nights oranization was bought out by some of the original event organizers.

Beyond Statistics & V’s Performance Meet Coverage

February 21st, 2013

Shelby Cobra

Drove down to the Beyond Statistics and V’s Performance Meet on Sunday and had some fun and free food. I liked the food. Mainly hot dogs and hamburgers and drinks included. Hell yea! Good stuff. When I first drove up and parked my car, it looked like a small car meet. 2012 LA Auto Show Opening Day Pictures

Exotic car at LA Auto Show 2012

Got home an hour ago from the 2012 LA Auto Show held in downtown Los Angeles. Been a few years since I’ve last been to this car show, so I was pretty excited. I also took the Metro at Culver City so I only took around 20-30 minutes to get to downtown. The trip cost $4 bucks! That included a one time fee of $1 dollar to buy the Metro plastic card called a “TAP Card”, that you use to store your fair and added $3 to the card for the round trip back to Culver City. Parking was free yo!

So get this, instead of driving to downtown Los Angeles with all the headache and nightmare of gridlock traffic to and from the convention center, and then finding parking and paying around $10, I just used the Metro and sailed to the convention center pretty easily. The only irritation was a couple guys each way blasting their music like it was a free concert.

I might try this again when there’s a car show at the convention center that ends around early evening. I’m still leery of wandering downtown near midnight unless I’m with some friends. Now get this, Hooters and a few pubs are just across the Metro station nearest to the convention center.
